Bubinga is a medium red-brown African wood with a purple cast and fine, hard growth lines in contrasting lighter red and purple. When figured, Bubinga typically produces a block mottle or bee’s wing figure.

Bubinga is a wood used chiefly in cabinetry, architectural paneling and doors. Solids are often used for turning and as handles for knives.
