Protecting your Spec

Include a log number on all bid documents

Color, grain, and natural markings are never the same from log to log—even within the same species. And size matters in a good specification—length, width, and volume of veneer vary widely from log to log.  The right flitch for your job should be carefully selected to meet the requirements of the project without waste—not too big, too small, too short, or too long for your needs.

That’s why it’s important to do more than just specify a species. Savvy specifiers select the exact log that gives them just the look they want and meets their dimensional needs exactly—long enough, big enough, yet not so big that material is wasted. We’ll help you find that log—showing you options in person or virtual samples by email of veneers in our inventory that have the features and dimensions you’re looking for.

And, once you’ve selected your log, we’ll do everything we can to protect your specs. Far too often, logs are switched out for lesser quality logs during the bidding or build processes. You can protect yourself by including the Dooge Veneers log number on all your bidding documents. When you do, you’re ensuring that the log you selected will be the log that shows up at your project—exactly as you specified it.
