Getting Steamed
Sycamore, Beech, and certain other veneers can be specified steamed or unsteamed. Steaming logs makes it easier to slice veneer from hard, dense woods. The process changes the innate color of the wood, imbuing it with a soft pink cast that is the unique signature of steamed woods.
